James and I finally got out and got our first hike of the season. We went to Castlewood Canyon SP just south-southeast of Denver. We did about a 4 mile loop. Wasn't too difficult, but it was hot and very humid. Thunder and lightning coming from behind us, we definitely though we were gonna get rained on. I wouldn't have minded too much though.
Only two real problems for me though...I covered myself in Deet cause the mosquitoes were pretty bad. Sweating it into my eyes and mouth. I didn't care though as long as I wasn't getting bit. Also before the trip, I washed my water bladder out with dish soap. Probably not a good idea. I thought I rinsed it well...but every drink of water I took tasted like Dawn. Mix that with the Deet and it wasn't very pleasant. I deserved that though haha.
We did the Inter Canyon Trail and some other parts as well. Photos will be posted in the next few weeks. Currently working to make them more appealing to the eye.
Gear taken was my usual day pack.
